Do you want to work with media and collections in a creative and academic environment, and be part of an engaged team where service, accessibility, and quality are in focus? Then this is the job for you! We are now looking for a librarian with experience in cataloging and collection work for Chalmers Library as a colleague is retiring. The position is varied and involves work both in the library's joint operations at the main library and partly at the Architecture and Civil Engineering Library (ACE).
Information about the department
Chalmers Library is a central meeting place for learning, research, and innovation. We work to create accessible and inspiring library environments that support the university's education and research. As the only university library in Sweden, Chalmers Library is integrated into an institution, CLS (https://www.chalmers.se/institutioner/cls/). This offers advantages such as closer collaboration with both research and education.
The library consists of two departments: Information Resources and Scientific Publishing, and Learning and Learning Environments. The position is located in the former, where we work with research support, bibliometrics, and media. The department consists of about twenty employees - librarians, bibliometricians, and a specialist in information and data processing.
Description of the position
You will be part of the media group and primarily work with:
- Maintenance and development of physical collections
- Selection, purchase, and invoicing of literature
- Cataloging of books and journals
- Interlibrary loan
- Staffing the information desk and user support
Parts of the position are located at the Architecture and Civil Engineering Library where you work closely with teachers and researchers in architecture, civil engineering, and design.
Employment type
Permanent full-time position.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Degree in Library and Information Science, or other education that the employer considers equivalent
- Experience with cataloging in Libris at the library level
- Experience working with library collections
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
